Time travel is one of those concepts most often left for fantasy novels, movies, and long conversations about the what-ifs of life. But for many researchers, it’s been a plausible reality for decades.

And, who said we didn’t have motion pictures with color and sound together before 1931!
Believed to be the first ever, or at least oldest surviving, film produced with both color and sound. The color was made by hand-painting the individual frames of originally black & white film. The sound came from an accompaniment of a sound-on-cylinder recording of Benoit Constant Coquelin’s voice reciting one of Cyrano’s speeches.
Cyrano de Bergerac is a play written in 1897 by Edmond Rostand. Although there was a real Cyrano de Bergerac, the play is a fictionalization of his life that follows the broad outlines of it.

When does Westworld return for season 2? (HBO)
Westworld has been a wonderful show with intricate layers-upon-layers. It seems destined to be the next Game of Thrones for HBO and could reach the level of popularity that Lost enjoyed. J.J. Abrams definitely has another hit on his hands. But now that the first season has ended far too soon, when does the second season begin? Unfortunately, it will likely be farther away than you’re hoping.
First, the good news. Westworld has indeed been renewed for a second season. Season 2 will run for 10 episodes, just like Season 1, according to EW.
Read this introductory list of contemporary machine learning algorithms of importance that every engineer should understand.
By James Le, New Story Charity.
It is no doubt that the sub-field of machine learning / artificial intelligence has increasingly gained more popularity in the past couple of years. As Big Data is the hottest trend in the tech industry at the moment, machine learning is incredibly powerful to make predictions or calculated suggestions based on large amounts of data. Some of the most common examples of machine learning are Netflix’s algorithms to make movie suggestions based on movies you have watched in the past or Amazon’s algorithms that recommend books based on books you have bought before.

There is a worldwide scientific experiment today aiming to test the laws of quantum physics via a video game – and you’re invited!
The BIG Bell Test: worldwide quantum experiments powered by human randomness aims to conduct a series of quantum experiments in labs around the world that, for the first time, will be controlled by human decisions made by volunteers (aka Bellsters). Here’s how you can take part.
Coordinated by ICFO, the Institute of Photonic Sciences, the experiments will test Albert Einstein’s idea of “local realism,” a phenomenon at the very core of the mysteries of the quantum world.
Disney will soon be opening a new Avatar-themed experience in Disneyworld Florida, and a group of the brand’s biggest fans got to see a preview last week.
One of the highlights of the ride are the ridiculously realistic Na’vi robots that talk to the visitors. The movie’s CGI already looked stunning, but these animatronics are just ridiculously realistic.
Disney’s Imagineering team has been experimenting with various ways to bring its famous characters to life, like mixing animatronics with digital screens and hopping one-legged robots.
I just caught up with Season 3 of Black Mirror, the dystopian science-fiction British television series on Netflix. I found the six episodes riveting, but often sort of nightmarish. Think high-tech, R-rated Twilight Zone.
Spoiler alert: the following mentions some things that are not immediately revealed in the episodes, similar to the trailers below (but does not give away endings).
