Joao Pedro Magalhaes is a Professor at the University of Liverpool in England.
His lab studies aging and longevity, in particular at the genetic level dedicated to the biology of aging.
Prof Pedro Is working on making people live longer, healthier lives by manipulating the human aging process. he has published over 100 scientific papers, including in top journals (e.g., Science, Nature-and Cell-family journals), and has given over 100 invited talks, including a TEDx talk.
His Research on Slowing Ageing down has been widely featured in scientific outlets (Science, Scientific American, New Scientist, etc.) and in the popular press (BBC, CNN, Time magazine, the Washington Post, the Financial Times and many others).
Prof Pedro is also an advisor/consultant to various organizations, including nonprofit foundations, universities, investment funds and biotech companies.
He Believes that the human condition is only the beginning of the extraordinary journey of the mind through the universe. Technologies like genetic engineering, stem cells, cybernetics, and nanotechnology will allow us to âhackâ biology and evolve beyond our current human limits. he calls himself a âtranshumanistâ & defends that humankind stands a better chance of survival if we understand and employ technology rather than if we try to ban it.
Prof Pedroâs work on predicting how technology will shape the human condition has been published in magazines such as Futures and The Futurist, and in newspapers like The Independent. He is an atheist with a life philosophy merging humanism, utilitarianism, and objectivism.

Brink Bionics completed a very successful [Indiegogo](https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/impulse-neuro-controller-for-pc-gaming#/) crowdfunding campaign in 2020 and gained the confidence to [take part in the CES](https://twitter.com/BrinkBionics/status/1349458342087954433) just last week. The Waterloo, Canada-based startup has a single signature product for now, the Brink Bionics Impulse. It is described as a * neuro-controller for PC gaming, *and takes the form of a glove that uses built-in sensors to read your muscle bio-signals and applies AI to accurately predict your clicking intentions. They key claim for the product is that it can improve your gaming reaction speeds by as much as 80ms. Thus, the Impulse could be a boon to FPS, MOBA and RTS gamers on PC.

A former independent presidential hopeful is vexed at the COVID-19 vaccine at the moment, and for multiple reasons. That would be Zoltan Istvan, a self-described transhumanist candidate who was billed as the âcyborg who is running against President Trumpâ in press reports throughout 2020. The California hopeful â who ran in the Republican primary â based his campaign on a futuristic message of fusing radical technology with daily life under the motto âUpgrade America.â
Mr. Istvan recently looked into how long it would be before he got a COVID-19 vaccine.
âI took the New York Timesâ âFind your Placeâ in the vaccine line report, and I was near the bottom 15% of the timeline for getting the vaccine â meaning Iâll be nearly last,â Mr. Istvan wrote in an email to Inside the Beltway.
