Tesla has posted new jobs for its Tesla Bot team on its Careers page. Most of the Tesla Bot jobs are located in California except one located in Austin, Texas.

A few of the openings have been posted for quite some time. Tesla has been steadily posting jobs for the Tesla Bot team since the project was announced during Artificial Intelligence or AI Day back in August. Most of the new jobs seem to be related to software development for the Tesla Bot, hinting at the company’s progress with the humanoid robot.

The new Tesla Bot jobs are listed below with their responsibilities.

They’re a long way from taking human jobs.

Alphabet says its Everyday Robot team at X is now testing its prototype machines in Google’s offices. The bots are performing light custodial work as Alphabet slowly pursues its goal of building a “general-purpose learning robot.”

The creation of the Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactor (SMR) business was announced following a £195m cash injection from private firms and a £210m grant from the government.

It is hoped the new company could create up to 40,000 jobs by 2050.

However, critics say the focus should be on renewable power, not new nuclear.

Private investors and the UK government will help fund the firm’s development of small nuclear reactors.

Many companies are experimenting with AI, often in many different areas of the company. But experimentation is not enough. It’s essential to have a bold corporate strategy driven from the top. The AI strategy needs to be coordinated throughout the company in tight alignment with the overall business strategy.

AI can be scary for employees, and many are worried about their jobs (see another jobs?). The most successful AI-fueled organizations lead with change management to enable AI systems to succeed.

A key factor for successful change management is trust. Companies that focus on relationship-building, collaboration, and training engender trust. Successful companies help employees understand that most AI replaces tasks, not jobs. Those companies are aiming to augment jobs so that AI and employees work together. If AI is going to replace jobs, management needs to be clear about exactly how that will play out for the employees and provide opportunities for them to upskill or reskill.

Deloitte recently published a comprehensive study of the current state of AI, asking the question: “What are today’s most AI-fueled organizations doing differently to drive success?”

In this article, I provide you with a summary of their findings to determine whether or not you need to go deeper to get more value.

Congress is making its biggest push ever to stop drunk driving with President Biden’s huge infrastructure bill. As we previously reported, one of the provisions included a mandate for anti-drunk driving technology in new cars. Now, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act has passed Congress with the measure intact, Autoblog (AP) reports, and it’s expected to be signed by the President soon. As part of the legislation, carmakers will have to include technology to detect and stop drunk drivers by as early as 2026.

First, though, the Department of Transportation will have to determine the best solution to curtail intoxicated drunk driving. Specifically, the bill requires something that will “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired.” That sounds similar to infrared camera solutions already used today by GM, Nissan and others, Sam Abuelsamid, principal mobility analyst for Guidehouse Insights, tells the AP. It goes without saying that we’d need something more advanced than breathalyzers, which are already used as a punishment for convicted drunken drivers.

Around 10,000 people die every year in the US from drunk driving accidents, the NHTSA says. Now that we have smarter sensors and plenty of camera technology to monitor driver behavior, it makes sense to explore solutions that could help prevent those sorts of accidents. Within a decade, it should feel as commonplace as seatbelts.

Universal Basic Income is soon going to become a necessity due to Robots becoming exponentially more capable of doing jobs which previously could only be performed by humans. This has become especially apparent with Elon Musk’s new venture in the form of Tesla Robot Optimus which is aimed to be shown off in 2022. Whether or not Elon Musk’s predictions will turn out to be true is yet to be seen, but it’s clear that we will need some kind of Passive income in the form of UBI.

In this video I will show you how you can use that knowledge to prepare yourself for a world with Universal Basic Income, how to make more money than anyone else and even double your income in the end.

Circa 2019

Set against the backdrop of continuous AI improvements, the picture seems simple enough: machines get a little more capable every day, and every extra bit of intelligence brings a few more jobs within reach of automation. But the reality is more complex, operating at a far larger scale. In most cases, we’re not automating individual jobs but entire industries, as we meet more of our needs through massively scalable software.

It’s a huge shift in the way society works, and it doesn’t have to be a bad one. We just have to look at the big picture.

In today’s multicultural society, language is the biggest barrier between the employer and the employee. And now as more opportunities for remote jobs are open, employees’ biggest fear is the language barrier or the different accents that might put them in a tough spot with the company they are applying for. Three Stanford students decided to encounter this problem after one of their own friends lost a customer support job due to his accent.

We decided to help the world understand and be understood, student Andres Perez Soderi, who is one of the founders of the new firm, told IEEE Spectrum. The friend group-turned-partners include a computer science major from China, an AI-focused management science and engineering major from Russia and a business-oriented MSE major from Venezuela.

After extensive research, the group found out that a lot of work had been done for voice conversion for deep fake technology but very little attention was given to accent translation. “We knew about accent-reduction therapy and being taught to emulate the way someone else speaks in order to connect with them. And we knew from our own experience that forcing a different accent on yourself is uncomfortable,” added Soderi. “We thought if we could allow software to translate the accent [instead], we could let people speak naturally.” Hence, in 2020 they started a company called Sanas which specializes in different accent translation.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly improving and has recently gotten to a point where it can outperform humans in several highly competetive job markets including the media. OpenAI and Intel are working on the most advanced AI Algorithms that are actually starting to understand the world similar to the way we experience it. They call these models: OpenAI CLIP, Codex, GPT 4 and other things which are all good at certain things. Now they’re trying to combine them to improve their generality and maybe create a real and working Artificial General Intelligence for our future. Whether AI Supremacy will happen before the singularity is unclear, but one thing is for sure: AI and Machine Learning will take over many jobs in the very near future.
